I have been ITCHING to share this INCREDIBLE cover for my weird, uncomfortable, antsy folk horror novel ITCH! AND NOW I CAN!
ISN'T SHE A ZINGER? SO PINK! SO SCRATCHY! SO ITCHY! We wanted a cover that would make people feel uncomfortable simply by looking at it, to mirror some of the discomfort our poor protagonist, Josie, goes through in these pages. Saffron Stocker did an incredible job, and I never thought I’d be so happy about so much pink, but as someone on TikTok pointed out, this can now be marketed as pink pony folk horror, and I am absolutely here for it.
Heartbroken, abused Josie thought a return to her superstitious hometown in the Forest of Dean might offer a fresh start. A chance to heal, reconnect with her estranged father.
Not a rotting, ant infested corpse, lying beneath the pines.
The grim discovery sends Josie spiralling into a chaotic world of odd traditions, weird festivals, folklore, secrets, betrayals, murder, the Devil, and bugs.
So many bugs.
As Josie struggles with infestations of all kinds, she scratches the surface of an age-old mystery - but are the crawling things leading her to uncover the truth?
Or is she their next victim?
Seeing this on the Hodder socials when we did the cover launch was mind-blowing. I never thought I'd get this far when I started my writing career. Huge thanks to my editor, Kate Norman, for whom I was her first Acquisition! Such an honour.
I cried quite a bit. 🖤🐜🖤
OUT FROM HODDER & STOUGHTON, October 2025
What a stunner of a cover! I’m excited for October.
Fantastic design!
